JES students had a wonderful Day of Play as they ended their week before spring break. What is "Day of Play" you ask? It was a time for our students to put away the screens and engage in play. From legos, to Play Dough, to board games, to outdoor fun, our students were engaged in play with one another. This type of self-directed free play does not stop at school though. We encourage parents to continue to support free play at home as well. By this we mean, having children stay away from phones, television, and tablets and to get involved in drawing, puzzles, charades, legos, cards, etc. You will be amazed how much your children will benefit from this. Check out the smiles on our students' faces!
Our Julesburg Elementary students have been working on showing kindness for the past month. Everyone worked together to make this a brighter corner in our school, full of acts of kindness.
Music students got to play basketball in class today. We practiced bouncing the ball to music using different rhythm patterns. Students also got to create their own rhythmic moves while listening to music.
Pre-K worked on combining sets to 5, using pink and blue "bees".
7th graders are discussing the most important aspects of Ancient Egyptian Culture by participating in a fish bowl discussion.

Saturday, March 13 Games – Weather Postponement
The current forecasts do not present a positive picture for the weather on Saturday, March 13. In the best interests of the safety of those players, coaches and families traveling this weekend, we are postponing all games scheduled for March 13. Those games will be rescheduled to Monday, March 15. Because Monday has become a playoff date, schools may practice on Sunday, March 14, per CHSAA bylaws.
The new schedule will have the Great 8 games playing March 15 and the semifinal games on March 17. This still allows for a travel day between games.
Knowing that the potential for significant snowfall is imminent, we will continue to monitor the impact of the storm in the event an additional postponement is needed. Should that be necessary, we will play Great 8 on Tuesday, March 16, but still have the semifinal games on March 17.
The state championship games remain scheduled for March 19 and 20 at The Broadmoor World Arena.
