Congratulations to Levi Reichman for receiving the Lion PRIDE Call of the Day! Levi demonstrated EXCELLENCE by earning the historically second highest NWEA score on his 10th grade Science test. This incredible feat enshrined him into the Julesburg High School Academic Hall of Fame! Way to go Levi!

FFA Chapter Vice President Cooper Edson and Sentinel Owen Harris gave an awesome presentation to our JH students during lunch! Every month, our Chapter Officers are hosting a Fun Friday Lunch to share all great things FFA has to offer. Today, they highlighted the BIG Conference, which is perfect for first-year ag students!

Elementary music students started a unit on solfege this week! Students were first introduced to the characters "Scaredy Cat Sol" and "Flathead Mi" and applied their newfound knowledge to songs, worksheets, and games; a favorite being boomwhackers. Ask your children where Sol and Mi live when at home and on vacation!

In Ag Business, we are tackling economics! Each student was assigned a different type of economy to analyze. They discussed the key characteristics, successes, and potential drawbacks, then defended their economy in front of the class. Great debates and insights!

Xoie Wilson earned the Lion PRIDE Call of the Day by demonstrating EXCELLENCE on her NWEA Language Usage test. Based upon her performance on this test, Xoie earned her way into the Julesburg High School ACADEMIC HALL OF FAME! Xoie has the third historically highest NWEA score in 9th grade Language Usage. Way to go Xoie!!!

Watching our preschoolers learn each other’s names through fun games is pure magic! 🎉 From name circles to catchy songs, every game builds friendships and confidence. This week we tried a new activity called the friend web. As we passed the ball of yarn we practiced greeting our friends with their name. Seeing their little faces light up when they remember a new friend’s name is priceless!

Who says you can't have a snowball fight in 90-degree heat? Our third graders battled it out in a fun spelling game called Snowball.

In an effort to be proactive with our communication regarding safety and security, we want to make you aware that Law Enforcement and Schools across the US are receiving school violence threats via social media that have been determined to be unsubstantiated.
To date, the Julesburg School District has NOT been named in any of these social media generated school threats. Several other schools in Northeast Colorado have recently been named and these threats have been investigated and determined to be unsubstantiated by their respective local law enforcement agencies.
In the future, should the Julesburg School District be named in a similar type of social media school threat, we will work with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department to conduct a thorough investigation to determine if the threat is credible, as we take all threats seriously and have zero tolerance for threats that jeopardize the safety of our school, students, or staff. In addition, we will pursue all measures necessary to investigate and prosecute any person making these types of school threats to the fullest extent of the law.
Rest assured, the safety and security of our students and staff are our top priority and we will immediately communicate any information should we actually be named in a school threat and keep you informed of our response.
All school functions will continue to operate as normal with a heightened awareness.
