These JES First Graders are focusing on phonemic awareness in this lesson. Phonemic awareness is the understanding that words are made up of sounds. It is an important component of reading instruction in order for students to be able to read and spell.


Kindergarten is working on counting by 10’s to 100.

11 JES students in grades 3-6 attended Ultimate Celebration today at NJS in Sterling. What a fun day learning through dance, art, and music




Third graders explored magnetism through a learning lab. They built their own magnetic fishing poles and fished to observe what objects were attracted to the magnet.





This week spelling bee qualifiers competed in Peetz at the Regional Spelling Bee. A special congratulations goes out to Alexis Boyer and Madison Johnson, who are advancing to the state level next month. Good luck girls!



6th grade gearing up for Jump Rope for Heart!


We are celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week at JES! So excited to see all of the kindness being spread through our school!


Our amazing vocal music teacher, Mrs. Jacobs and her show choir performed for the elementary and what a performance it was. This group has worked so hard and they have a fantastic show coming up just around the corner. Keep your eyes open for the date and time! Show and tell for second grade is a great way to express oral language, make connections, and learn new vocabulary such as nocturnal. Students that have brought animals are understanding they are a huge responsibility.
