Watching our preschoolers learn each other’s names through fun games is pure magic! 🎉 From name circles to catchy songs, every game builds friendships and confidence. This week we tried a new activity called the friend web. As we passed the ball of yarn we practiced greeting our friends with their name. Seeing their little faces light up when they remember a new friend’s name is priceless!

In an effort to be proactive with our communication regarding safety and security, we want to make you aware that Law Enforcement and Schools across the US are receiving school violence threats via social media that have been determined to be unsubstantiated.
To date, the Julesburg School District has NOT been named in any of these social media generated school threats. Several other schools in Northeast Colorado have recently been named and these threats have been investigated and determined to be unsubstantiated by their respective local law enforcement agencies.
In the future, should the Julesburg School District be named in a similar type of social media school threat, we will work with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department to conduct a thorough investigation to determine if the threat is credible, as we take all threats seriously and have zero tolerance for threats that jeopardize the safety of our school, students, or staff. In addition, we will pursue all measures necessary to investigate and prosecute any person making these types of school threats to the fullest extent of the law.
Rest assured, the safety and security of our students and staff are our top priority and we will immediately communicate any information should we actually be named in a school threat and keep you informed of our response.
All school functions will continue to operate as normal with a heightened awareness.

Christina Zuniga-Lopez and Piper Buettenback working on their Spanish II course. In Spanish II, Christina and Piper will expand their knowledge of key vocabulary topics and grammar concepts. They not only will begin to comprehend listening and reading passages more fully, but they will also start to express themselves more meaningfully in both speaking and writing. In this course there is a strong emphasis on providing context and conversational examples for the language concepts presented in each unit. Christina and Piper are expected to be actively engaged in their own language learning, understand common vocabulary terms and phrases, use a wide range of grammar patterns in their speaking and writing, participate in conversations and respond appropriately to conversational prompts, analyze and compare cultural practices, products, and perspective of various Spanish-speaking countries, and take frequent assessments where their language progression can be monitored.

🌳 Did you know that success is like a tree? The "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" teaches us that the most important changes happen beneath the surface!
Our junior ICAP class recently reviewed the first three habits:
Being proactive
Beginning with the end in mind
Putting first things first
These form the "private victory" - the roots that nobody sees but are crucial for growth. Just like the mural in our ILC, it's all about building a strong foundation.
Monkey business in the classroom! 🐵
Our kindergarteners are jumping into learning - literally! They acted out "Five Little Monkeys" while practicing counting backwards from 5 to 1. It's amazing to see how combining movement, storytelling, and numbers can make learning so engaging and memorable.
Exciting times in our 3rd grade classroom! We're putting together writing binders to help our young authors stay organized and improve their writing skills. It's amazing to see how a little structure can make a big difference in their creativity and confidence.
