"One of the biggest challenges for parents is recognizing the difference between a psychological issue and the normal developmental changes that happen during these formative years." Figuring out if your child needs additional mental health help can be difficult. This website has important information about what to watch for in regard to our children's mental health, including: mood changes, intense feelings of anxiety, difficulty concentrating, changes in eating or sleeping habits, quick weight loss, and experimentation with illicit substances. The website also includes a video about helping kids label feelings. We have been talking about "naming our feelings" in Second Step class. Labeling feelings helps children with self-regulation and diminishes the power of being overwhelmed by them.

3rd grade learns about the regions of the United States. They also share with each other which regions they hope to visit someday!
