In Kindergarten, we are enhancing our understanding of non-standard measurement by engaging students in a hands-on activity: measuring the distance across the classroom using our bodies. This approach not only fosters a love for learning but also encourages movement and collaboration among young learners.

Learning through play! 🎲 This week, our Pre-K class explored the concepts of more, less, and the same. A favorite activity was our dot card game, where partners flipped cards and practiced comparing quantities. Hands-on games like this make math fun and engaging for young learners!

"Freckle Juice” has long been a favorite among second graders and continues to captivate young readers. Through the story, students explored the importance of embracing their uniqueness and learning to value themselves just as they are. The book’s message that everyone is special in their own way resonated deeply with them. At the recent parent night, students and their families had a blast creating their own versions of “freckle juice.” It was a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved. As a special treat, every second-grade student has received their own copy of Freckle Juice to enjoy and treasure at home.*

📚✨ Fifth Graders Explore Character and Creativity Through The Giver! ✨📚 Our fifth graders are preparing to engage in Lois Lowry’s The Giver to reflect on their own character qualities, imagining what role they might be selected for in the unique community of the book. This exploration helped students think critically about their strengths, values, and potential contributions to a group. Taking this creativity to the next level, during our Family Literacy Night, students combined their character traits, roles, and school pictures to design stunning new images of themselves using the Magic School Artificial Intelligence tool! These AI-generated images showcase their unique visions and bring their imagined roles to life. We are so proud of their thoughtful work and creativity! 🎨📖 Thank you to the families who came and took part in all of the activities and the chili supper!

Our 6th graders wrapped up their Inventions reading module with an exciting hands-on activity: creating their own invention models! It was amazing to see their creativity come to life. A huge thank you to Ms. Miller for introducing us to the 3D printer and showing us how technology can turn ideas into reality. Great job, everyone!

In our reading unit, third graders are exploring the question: "How do historic places, documents, and symbols represent our nation?" We were honored to have U.S. Army Veterans Mr. Jules Hoschouer and Mrs. Sandy Fryar join us to teach proper flag etiquette. Students learned about the significance of each of the 13 folds of the American Flag and practiced folding it correctly. This experience not only enriched their understanding of national symbols but also fostered respect for our veterans.
