Our Pre-K kids are learning the number 6! They practiced on a number sense board, filled a ten frame, added dots to a dot cube, and even wrote the number 6 all on their own! So proud of their hard work and progress!

Third graders are diving into the world of magnets. Our students are exploring magnetism and the forces it creates. They had hands-on fun discovering how magnets not only attract but also repel objects! Did you know this push and pull action is a key part of force?

A family in the Julesburg School District recently lost their home to a devastating fire. We are collecting clothing and household items to support them during this difficult time. Those who wish to donate can drop off their items at the main entrance of the school. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

This year, our preschool has implemented a new curriculum designed around the InvestiGator Club, which emphasizes learning through investigations. Our young learners have explored primary colors through an engaging game of “Color Pokey.” Additionally, we practiced one-to-one correspondence with a round of musical chairs and participated in a “shopping” activity, where children ensured they collected all items on their lists in the correct quantities. We did a little time to enjoy the fresh snowfall too!

In our Kindergarten classroom, we are fostering early math skills through hands-on measurement activities with string. This approach not only engages young minds but also lays the foundation for understanding concepts of length and spatial awareness.

🚀 Ready, Set, Go! Ratios in Action with Speed and Distance! 🚀 6th graders are testing their speed by seeing how quickly they can cover 10 meters—all while balancing something on their heads! It’s a super fun way to learn about ratios and speed. So how does it work? 🤔 Speed is a type of ratio: it compares the distance traveled to the time it takes. Here’s the basic idea: Speed = Distance ÷ Time This way, students can compare their speeds as a ratio and see who’s the fastest—while staying steady and balanced. Let’s cheer them on as they race to learn more about speed, distance, and ratios! 🙌 #MathInMotion #STEM

🌟 Sophomore Students Explore Values & Well-Being in Today's Character Strong Lesson 🌟 Today, our sophomores engaged in a powerful Character Strong lesson focused on values and well-being. The highlight of the session was the creation of their "To Be" lists—an exercise that encourages students to think about who they want to be, not just what they want to do. It’s a simple, yet profound activity that challenges students to reflect on their character and aspirations, with the goal of improving their overall well-being. For many students, the challenge isn’t about knowing what career or goals to pursue, but understanding the kind of person they want to become. Developing a strong sense of self and living in alignment with one’s values is key to fostering emotional, mental, and social well-being. Here are the three main aspects of well-being we explored today: Emotional Well-Being: This includes the happiness, interest, and satisfaction we feel in life. Mental Well-Being: Focused on personal growth, including qualities like having a sense of humor and the ability to adapt. Social Well-Being: Feeling connected to others, contributing to a community, and seeing the good in people. In the lesson, students ranked words associated with each aspect of well-being, then compared their rankings with classmates. It was a great opportunity to discover shared values, as well as to learn from different perspectives. By living in our values and striving to be the person we want "To Be," we can improve not only our emotional, mental, and social well-being but also create a positive impact on the world around us.
